New Course for Yoga Teachers.

Child Yoga PoseKevala is about to offer an exciting new yoga diploma for qualified yoga teachers who want to learn and teach yoga to children.

Young children are natural yogis. They intuitively stretch their bodies in every direction, run and play for the joy of movement, and rest when their bodies are fatigued. They live truly in the moment, with neither fears about the future nor regrets about the past.

Yoga is an ideal modality for capturing a child’s innate desire to move and play. It triggers their imaginations and fosters creativity. The postures help children build strength, gain flexibility, and improve concentration. Finding the balance between effort and surrender is a tool that serves adults and children alike. Imagine the benefit to a child who recognizes the symptoms of stress within his or her body before they escalate! As a teacher of yoga, you provide children tools for stilling the body, controlling the breath, and calming the mind, helping them feel independent and accomplished.

To engage your students, you will learn games, songs and stories that make yoga fun and meaningful to children. As you learn how to teach the postures, you will also be instructed on the benefits of the poses, how to sequence them, and what is appropriate for different aged children. You will learn to provide children methods to diffuse tension through self-calming.

Breathing techniques and yoga philosophy for students of different ages will be explained. In addition, you will learn techniques for setting limits and communicating effectively with children. Finally, you will be guided in special needs and special settings, such as classes for children within the autism spectrum, parent child partner yoga, and providing yoga instruction to children in school.

To teach children, you need exquisite patience and flexibility. It is your task to make every child who does yoga feel successful, to find a way for every child to perform a posture well. Perfection of posture for children comes from the satisfaction of making an effort, fueling their desire to come back to try it all again!

The course will be launched early in 2006. Phone +44(0)1803-215678 to leave your contact details on our waiting list.
